And yet, the boardroom as we know it, might not be the place for design to thrive.

So we designed BoardRoom*, a collection of modules to transform any formal boardroom into a creative one.

At our studio in the WerkspoorFabriek in Utrecht, we have a showroom where you can get a feel for the BoardRoom*. Our story

In 1996 our founder Marcel graduated from designschool with the design of a bicycle concept, partially made out of . . . cardboard. The idea was to experiment with the use of cardboard in a nonconventional application. For building the bicycle he turned to Fokker Aircraft for their expertise in forming one-off aluminium parts.

The bicycle was one of the very last products Fokker Aircraft made before they went bankrupt. A huge loss.

A few years later Marcel realised that their sponsorship was never about the bicycle. The goal was to make something to show other industries what Fokker Aircraft was capable of. An attempt to save the company.

Over the years many of our projects led us intuitively towards the use of cardboard. Like the classroom of the future project. We recognised the importance of creating physical prototypes to engage people in the design process. Cardboard, as it turned out, is the best material for this. Cardboard is relatively cheap, provides a fast pace of working, makes ideas tangible and facilitates interactions and conversations.
